Postpartum Doula Support Add-On
A postpartum doula works with families in the postpartum period; offering support, information, instruction, comfort, and referrals. I specialize in caesarean recovery and in lactation support. I am available to meet with your family prenatally to discuss anticipated needs or postnatally as needs arise.
Duties May Include:
Maternal care (emotional support, allowing the mother a self-care break, screening for postpartum mood disorders, suggestions for cesarean recovery, etc.)
Newborn care (bathing, feeding, swaddling, soothing, diapering, etc.)
Breastfeeding & chestfeeding support
Bottle feeding assistance and education
Infant sleep support
Babywearing tutorials and hands-on assistance
Light housework (dishes, laundry, etc.)
Household organization
In-home assistance with older children
Helping older children adjust to the newborn
Local area resources and referrals (support groups, mom/baby exercise classes, pediatric chiropractors, massage, acupuncture, etc.)
Education on postpartum birth control

Postpartum doula support currently only available as an add-on to a lactation consultation.
Add-on includes 3 hours of doula support immediately following the in-home lactation consultation (either initial or follow-up).
Doula hours are not eligible for insurance reimbursement.
